            Mesh Type Satellite Antennas
SAMI (Superior Antenna) makes a number
of mesh antennas at their Arkansas factory,
ranging up to 12 feet in diameter.


The CKD line is a high quality Knock Down Antenna, originally designed by Kaul-Tronics.
Models are available in 8.5, 10 and 12 feet in diameter.  The Intermediate ring design optimizes the parabolic curve of the mesh between the ribs.  It serves three major functions:  first and foremost, it increases the gain compared to antennas without an intermediate ring, while at the same time adding increased structural integrity to the antenna. Of equal importance is the use of stainless steel mesh retaining clips around the intermediate ring to reduce the possibility of mesh blow-out in high wind areas.
 
High performance features are also included in the ProFORM mount.  The mounting ring for the CKD antennas has an attachment point to each of the antenna ribs, plus six bolts securing the center plate to the mount.  This design locks the reflector to the mount, eliminating the wobble in the wind common with other knockdown type antennas.  The polar mount features a one-piece 3/4-inch machined pivot axis that rotates within two oil impregnated shoulder bushings ensuring years of trouble-free satellite tracking.
