TRAXIS DBS-3500 "POOR MAN'S" ALIGNMENT SYSTEM
Digital satellite technology is a wonderful
thing, but unfortunately there is a great lack of
knowledge among some of the so-called "professional" installation
community. This is not
normally an issue when utilizing companies that install and maintain true
Commercial
equipment, but is often a great concern for the typical residential consumer
shopping for
a qualified installation or repair company.
Satellite hobbyists have discovered that many technical chores can be done quite
adequately on a Do-It-Yourself basis. Armed with the proper knowledge and
some
determination to do it themselves, many end users might also be up to the task
of
aligning (and sometimes installing) their own satellite reception equipment.
Global Communications has been assisting all types of satellite equipment users
for many
years, and has put together two levels of test equipment that should prove to be
adequate
as well as cost effective for the hobbyist as well as the one-time user wanting
to do their
own installation.
The TRIMAX SM-2500 combines the functions of many previous satellite meters,
along with
a basic spectrum analyzer, at a price of 499.95. This is a fraction of the
cost of previous
spectrum analyzers, with most of the functions you might expect, plus added
accuracy
and greater portability. This makes it indispensable for the person that
professionally installs
satellite systems, as well as the serious hobbyist. Those wanting added
signal confirmation
available from a spectrum analyzer should know that we also offer a 40.00
preloaded satellite
and transponder option...greatly increasing your ability to speed through an
installation.
While this may not be in the same league as an AVCOM or a PROMAX, it does
extremely
well despite its much lower cost.
If 500.00 is out of your budget, how about
159.95 plus shipping for a TRAXIS DBS-3500 satellite
receiver pre-loaded with current satellite and transponder memory, with an
in-line satellite
tuning meter thrown in to get you started at finding satellites? After use
as a test instrument
to set up your system, this receiver can then take its place on top of your
television set as an
MPEG-2 free to air receiver.
